Jonathan Mawson

Guest Choreographer

Recently home from performing as Purse in Starlight Express, Bochum. Jonathan began his career after graduating Laine Theatre Arts with a diploma is dance. Theatre credits include; Starlight Express, Bochum (Purse), Legally blonde, West End (Swing), An Evening of Dirty Dancing, UK Tour (Rob, Dance Captain), High School Rocks! UK Tour (Ensemble, Dance Captain).

Other credits include; The film 'Confetti' (Ball Boy), Royal Variety Show (2002) Dancer for Kylie Minogue, Anastacia, Enrique Inglesias, Will Young and Gareth Gates. Oliver Performance (Legally Blonde), Carnival Cruises as lead vocalist/dancer.

In 2006 Jonathan began his role as associate choreographer for MBP Productions, taking charge of teaching and installing the seven production shows to be performed onboard the Ocean Village cruise lines for Carnival. Working closely with company director Micha Bergese and a cast of up to sixteen performers including singers, dancers and aerial performers, rehearsals took place in Hendon Film Studios in London before flying out for on stage costume and technical rehearsals onboard Ocean Village cruise lines. During the 4 years working for MBP, Jonathan was present for the creation of 5 brand new concept shows and fortunate enough to teach and install several full cast changes 

One of Jonathan's early choreography successes was when he was part of the West End cast of Legally Blonde and choreographed their winning entry to West End Eurovision. A crazy eurotrash style piece, featuring Dr Belonde and his wild world where anything can happen, created to 'Dancing" by Lasha Tambai.

Riding on the huge popularity of Fox TV series "Glee" Jonathan worked as assistant choreographer to Hayley Simmons (Company Director of Kick-7-6 on the writing and creation of the Glee Medley which appeared in the hugely successful UK tour of "High School Rocks". A high energy six minute track paying tribute to six of the most popular tracks from the TV series. 

Jonathan began a long standing working relationship with Jammy Shows & Productions at the launch of their company in 2013. Supplying choreography for their "Night of Grease" & a rock medley for an open showcase.

Since then Jonathan has been part of the creation and installation of several shows for the Jammy production team including; PartyRock" a show with a concert vibe, "Just Can't Get Enough" a fresh twist on some rock and roll classics, "Let's Have a Kiki" A Gatsby inspired show with a funky jazz feel, plus a modern take on Alice in Wonderland Theme show, enjoying all the memorable characters showcasing their world through clever selection of current pop songs in "Raise Your Glass".

Working again with Jammy Shows and Productions in 2015, this time creating four new burlesque themed shows "Our Little Secret", "Chandelier", "Dangerous" and "Defying Limits" to be performed onboard Tallink cruise lines. These sexy shows are currently being shown until August 2016.

Through 2014 and 2015 Jonathan also worked with Stage Acts Productions awn their touring stage show "An Evening of Dirty Dancing" as their resident choreographer. Jonathan was responsible for handling the teaching and installing of new cast handovers. Jonathan has also created fresh choreography for their 60's Medley and the opening act of 2 a strictly sassy sequence to The Pussycat Dolls version of "Sway" which can still be seen as they tour the UK.

In May 2015 Jonathan was delighted to be reunited with Micha Bergese productions to create and teach the choreography for the light spectacular show "Britannia Beat" celebrating generations of popular British music dressed in bespoke LED laced costumes. Currently showing on P&O's newest and largest ship "Britannia".

Jonathan is also a managing co-director of his own company "Adrenaline Productions". Producing touring theatre show "Pop Factor", "The Concert", an interactive family experience visiting theatre venues across the UK during the Easter and May half terms on an annual basis. Pop Factor was first launched in 2012 appearing at the Gove Theatre in Dunstable and the Oakengates Theatre in Telford. Since it's launch tour Pop Factor has gone from strength to strength growing growing to several 21 venue tours with excellent reviews across the board.
