CHARLOTTE LYMPANY
AISTD (DDE/DDI) - PRINCIPAL
Charlotte began dancing at the early age of 3 in her hometown of Portsmouth. 
From a very young age, Charlotte was involved in numerous productions, festivals and competitions all over the U.K. 
At the age of 12, Charlotte gained a scholarship to attend Stonelands School of Ballet and Theatre Arts in Hove, where she studied all academic subjects alongside Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Singing and Drama. Charlotte was examined in both ISTD tap and modern, and RAD ballet through all graded and major examinations. 

At age 14, Charlotte successfully auditioned for Derek Hartley’s Tap production at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre, to mark the centenary of the birth of Fred Astaire. The country’s top 150 tap dancers were brought together with International tap superstars to put on a show to remember!
Charlotte continued her professional dance and musical theatre training at Bodywork company dance studios, Cambridge. Here she was awarded a Diploma in Professional Dance, accredited by Trinity College of London. 

From the age of 18, Charlotte sailed all over the Mediterranean and Caribbean with Costa cruises and P&O cruises ( Carnival) for 7 years, taking on the role of Dance Captain and Company Manager. 

In between contracts at sea, Charlotte travelled to Asia to perform in the grand opening of the Grand Lisboa Casino in Macau, China. Here she performed as a soloist and featured dancer for 6 months. 

Finally after performing all over the world, Charlotte returned to the U.K to begin her teaching/ choreographic career. She attended Chichester College and studied for her ISTD DDI teaching qualification, where she was successfully examined. Charlotte has now completed her ISTD DDE qualification in both Tap and Modern under the guidance of ISTD examiner Irela Strachan. 

In January 2015 Charlotte took over as principal at Mainstage Performing Arts and has now produced over 10 in house productions .
